The International Folklore Festival “The Water Lilly”, IXth edition, July 12-18, 2005, Cahul
The festival will host groups from Romania, Ukraine, Belarus, Serbia and Montenegro, Moldova. Organizers: the Cahul Town Hall, the National Center of Popular Art, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

National Contest of the Popular Song „Maria Dragan”, IIIrd edition, Balauresti, Nisporeni
As a result of the casting, the 2nd part will take place on August 20-21, 2005 in Balauresti, Nisporeni district. On August 20, starting at 14:30, flowers will be laid at the tomb of Maria Dragan, and at 16:00 – the contest will begin. On August 21 the Gala of the Winners is programmed which will also comprise recitals.

International Contest of the Popular Song «CINTECELE LUMII», Ist edition, Comrat, main square
Will take place on August 20-21, 2005 in Comrat town of Gagauzia Autonomous Republic. Participants from 13 countries (Armenia, Byelorussia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, R. Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia and Montenegro, Ukraine) will take place in the contest. On August 20, all the participants will sing a song in Moldovan language and next day in their mother tongue

International Festival of Opera and Ballet Stars “Maria Biesu is inviting”, 14th edition, Chisinau, September 2-9, 2005
The International Festival of Opera and Ballet Stars “Maria Biesu is inviting” has made up pages of history of the national musical culture during the 13 editions. During the previous editions the festival has hosted conductors and soloists from Great Britain, Austria, Ukraine, Belarusi, Bulgaria, Japan, Italy, France, Finland, Holland, Romania, Russia, the USA, Turkey, Tadkjikistan, etc. From 2005, according to the Governmental Decision no. 859 of July 26, 2004, the festival is under the Government’s patronage.

The National Fair of Ceramics „Ungheni – 2005” – hosting ceramists from Moldova, taking place on Septembers 10-11, 2005, on the Central Plaza in Ungheni

The National Contest of the Popular Song “Nicolae Sulac”, Ist edition, Chisinau
The Gala Concert will take place on September 16, 2005, at the National Concert Hall.
Organizers: Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the National Center of Popular Art.

The 4th edition of the International Festival „Ethno-Jazz”, Chisinau, September 22-25, 2005, organized by the Art-group „Trigon”, and the NGO „Atelierul Viitorului” The Festival will host famous musicians from France, Germany, Israel, Ucraine, Poland, Russian, Moldova, the Czech Republic, Holland, Surinam, India. The first three editions were great cultural events having a resonance in Moldova as well as abroad. The festival was supported by the embassies of the USA, Germany, France, Turkey, by the Alliance Francaise, by the Czech Cultural Fond and the Japanese Cultural Fond.
“Trigon” was founed in 1992, and the first edition of the festival has marked the 10th anniversary of the famous band.

A festive concert dedicated to the 60th anniversary from the founding of the National Academic Ensemble of Folk Dance “JOC” – October 2005, Chisinau Founded in 1945, the National Academic Ensemble of Folk Dance “JOC”, a famous ensemble from Moldova, is the winner of republican, ex-union, and international contests (Romania, Bulgaria, Germany, Russia, China, etc.). On August 13, 2005, the “JOC” ensemble will reach 60 years of extraordinary artistic activity on the world scene.

International Gala of the Puppets Theatres “Licurici – 60”, 3rd edition, October 5-11, 2005, Chisinau
The International Gala of the Puppets Theatres “Licurici – 60”, 3rd edition (the Ist edition took place in 1995 and IInd edition – in 2000) aims to present the relationship between different Puppets Theaters from Moldova, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Bulgaria, France, Poland, Israel, Latvia, the interaction of new genres and forms of presentations, change of experience among actors, producers, scene painters, masters of popular art. This project is up-to-date in the cultural context, because it facilitates the interaction of European puppeteers, establishes new contacts.
Organizers: Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Moldova, The Republican Puppet Theatre “Licurici”, The Theatrical Union of Moldova.

Chisinau National Contest of the Popular Dance „La vatra hoerelor”, hosting popular music ensembles of song and dances, major and junior folklore bands The Republican step will take place on October 9, 2005 at the National Concert Hall, Chisinau, starting at 13:00.

Contest of Popular Music Orchestras and Traditional Ensembles
The final step of the contest will take place on October 20, 2005, starting at 11:00 at the National Philarmonics „Serghei Lunchevici”
