Bus station Transbus Codreanu from Iasi
Arriving from Iasi
Daily buses from Autogara Transbus Codreanu located in front of the train station in Iasi and from Gara de Sud in Chisinau for the journey back. Buses leave a few times in the course of the day and the journey takes about 3-4 hours. Cost of the journey one way is about 140 MDL / 8 Euro. No need to book your tickets in advance as there are always empty seats in the bus/minibus at the departure. Bare in mind that there are fewer bus services on the weekend, so you might need to check other ways of transportation. Trains leave from the Train station in Iasi. There is a transit train from Bucharest that stops in Iasi in the middle of the night arriving to Chisinau early in the morning. Or you can take a train to Ungheni and change here for another train to Chisinau. 2 trains per day available from Iasi to Ungheni. Central Bus station in Sofia, Bulgaria
Arriving from Bulgaria
Weekly bus from Sofia to Chisinau departs from the Central Bus station in Sofia on Tuesdays at 10 am and costs 92 Bulgarian Levs. For information on this bus service and updates of the times check out the bus station’s website. The outbound bus leaves Chisinau Gara de Sud every Thursday at 7 am arriving to Sofia at 10 am next day. The journey costs 863 MDL.Optionally take a train from Sofia to Bucharest and the night train from Bucharest to Chisinau. For timetables of trains from Sofia to Bucharest check out the BAHN website. The Chisinau train “Prietenia” leaves Gara de Nord in Bucharest at 19.35 daily arriving to Chisinau at 08.54 am next morning. The tickets can be purchased on the day an hour before the train’s departureRegular buses leave from a little parking across the Liberty statue in Chisinau with the holyday makers heading towards Varna.
