The apartment and all in and around
it is available "as is". Please don't hold me responsible
for mishaps and incidents. If you prefer a fully controlled environment,
please, book yourself in one of the better hotels. Flowers
Hotel is only around the corner and will welcome you for 140 Euro/night.
Make sure you read the specifics of our apartment before you make the
booking with us.
Apartment's
specifics :
Only
1-2 of our customers had made some complaints about their stay in the
flat and we are happy to share them with our potential customers before
they make the decision to book with us. We've got this flat only recently
and are in process of improving the standards of accommodation and living
at the moment.
Hot
water : you may need to run the tub for some time (about 2 minutes
in summer and 5 minutes in winter time) to get hot water for your bath/shower.
The water supply is centralized and is coming from the bottom of the
building. We will happily switch on the boiler for hot water supply,
when the central heating is over or faulty.
No water : once
or twice a year water supply (hot water only or both hot and cold water)
is ceased for 24 hours due to technical problems or maintenance works
carried out by water supplier "Termocom". Please, get in touch
with the host if this is the case and we will find out when the water
is coming back again.
Winter heating
: is centralized and is supplied to the whole apartment block by the
state company "Termocom". The heating season starts somewhere
at the end of October, so it may be chilly inside the flat at the end
of September / beginning of October (average of 15-17 centigrade) before
the central heating is on. We do provide warm winter quilts for our
guests in autumn/winter season or upon a request.
Remonts : all
the apartment blocks (new or old) will have 1-2 dwellers who are replanning
/ refurbishing their apartments. It's an illness in Moldova. Everybody
wants a nice and modern apartment. So, there may be a chance that such
remont occure while you are staying with us and you may hear drilling
and humming noise if you stay in the flat during the day. It will stop
in the evening. Our advise: don't stay indoors in the day time! Go out
and enjoy Chisinau and Moldova!
Elevator : The
flat is located on the 8th floor and you'll have to use lift / elevator
while staying with us (push the #9 floor button on the elevator to go
to the 8th floor). It's working 24 / 7 most of the days of the year.
But as any equipment lifts break and ours is not an exception. Happens
very seldom though and is fixed within a couple of hours. Also, if you
are a claustrophobic person and not fit enough to walk up and down the
stairs, please, consider renting somewhere else.
Lights : There
is a light bulb in the hall of the 8th floor just when you step out
of the lift. It's bright enough to light up the whole floor hall. The
stare case of the building is lighten along the way.
Mosquitos : We've
got a mosquito net on all of the small windows to stop mosquitos from
flying in. But if you leave the front door opened then they may fly
in. Do buy some mosquito cream / lotion from the nearest supermarket
and try to keep the front door and windows that hasn't got a net shut.
We also provide the flat with anti-mosquito electric device that you
can plug for the night to sleep safe and sound.
Summer heat :
Moldova is a hot country and temperature may rise up to 40 degrees in
summer months (July and August being the hottest months of all). We
do not have an air conditioning in the flat and do not feel like putting
one due to the negative impact it brings to the environment. Same refers
to fans. Leaving windows opened during the day and night does help and
brings the breeze into the flat. Taking cold showers will help to reduce
the body heat.
Privacy
: The
host of the apartment leaves in a village 45 km far from Chisinau. He
will come to the flat from time to time to tidy up and to take the rubbish
out. He does this usually in the
afternoon, when most of our guests are out exploring Chisinau and surrounding,
but let us know if there is any time you don't want to be disturbed.
If you are meeting a woman
in Chisinau whom you corresponded via the Internet and intend to bring
her in the flat, please, make sure you know her name and you've got
all her details and do inform us of everyone who visits you "socially"
in our flat.
