Here is a description of our neighborhood that will help you to get oriented easier and facilitate your stay with us in Chisinau. All of the below places are located within the walking distance from us. Please, email Marisha with suggestions or updates that you may have after staying at our Negruzzi flat in Chisinau

Money

The local currency is Moldovan Lei. Euro, USD, Romanian Lei, Ukranian Hrivna and Russian Roubles can be exchanged in any exchange office in Chisinau or other towns in Moldova. There are more than 10 exchange offices in our neighbourhood and some of them are opened 24 hours (like the one in FIDESCO supermarket). Restaurants, travel agencies, soupermakets and most of the shops will accept payments by your debit/credit card.
You can also withdraw Moldovan Lei at any ATMs nearby. We've got 2 ATMs closeby. MoldovaAgroind Bank ATM is located in the buidling of Air Moldova travel agency at the bottom of our apartment block. Use Victoria Bank ATM in the building of VOIAJ International if you have a VISA card (the machine claims that you can withdraw up to 10000 MDL at once. I am not sure, but I did take 5000 once).

Beer House restaurant on the bottom of our apartment block. Nice atmpsphear and the best beer in town.


Steak House restaurant at the bottom of our street. Good food and not too dear.

 

 

 

There are plenty of cafes, pizzas, fastfoods and restaurants in our neighbourhood. Prices vary from 5 Euro for a pork stake with chippies and salad at Andy's Pizza to 15 Euro at Beer House restaurant. Optionally, you can buy your grocery at the Central Market (10 minutes walk from us) or Green Hills Nistru supermarket and cook at the flat.

Andy's is a net of Pizza & Moldovan fastfood restaurants throughout the city of Chisinau. This particular one is located inside the building of the Agrarian complex UNO at the bottom of our boulevard. A breakfast composed of scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoe edges and tomatoes will cost you one and a half Euro and a pork steak with chippies and salad for your lunch around 5 Euro. They have an English menu and also Kid's menu. Menue with pictures. Accept payments by card.

Beer House restaurant serves the best beer in town that is brewed locally. The restaurant is located at the bottom of our apartment block

"Echip 99" travel agency at the left side of our apartment block. They do tours of Moldova and ticketing Air Moldova travel agency at the left of our apartment block with MoldovaAgroindBank inside and an ATM outside the building  

Train station and the Central bus station are at the walking distance from us. Gara de Nord is only few bus stops far and Gara de Sud and the Airport can be accessed by regular minibuses.

Buses from Prague Chech republic stop in front of Chisinau hotel accross the boulevard from us.

There are regular trolleybuses, buses and minibuses to any part of the city (Ciocana, Ryshkani, Botanica, Sculeanca, Buiucani) from here.
