Our Team

Please, meet people from Moldova contributing to this site and looking after you in Moldova

Marisha is the owner and administrator of this website and of the forum EnglishMoldova . Her main duty is to keep the sites up-to-date and provide a preparatory travel & business support to those who plan to visit Moldova. She will help you to prepare your trip to Moldova &Transdniestr and put you in contact with people and organisations you may need to facilitate your trip and stay. In summer time, Marisha is working as a travel guide and English / Russian / Romanian interpretor and assistant in Moldova. She is married and has a little daughter. Most of the year she is based in Manchester, UK, visiting Moldova in high season (May-October). Marisha is also leting her apartment in Chisinau on short and long basis while she is in Manchester or with her family in Ivancea. Her husband Kris is a very passionate traveller and many times initiates trips to less visited countries of the Eastern Europe and of the ex-Soviet block. You will find some of Kris's travel stories on the TravelBlog

Both of our guides are called Natalia or Natasha.
Natalia (left) is our English and French speaking guide. She is guiding for our guest since autumn 2007 and is doing tours around Molodva and Transdniestr. Her most required tours are Orheiul Vechi, Chisinau and Tiraspol. Also, she is meeting our guests in Chisinau, checking them in our flat and showing around the area. She will buy your train/bus tickets and will provide travel information. Unfortunately, life in Moldova doesn't suits Natalia and she is looking to leave the country for good. She has applied to immigrate to Canada and is awaiting for the results now.

Natasha (right) is our English speaking guide. She is a student and part-time working in VIP service of the Chisinau airport. In her free time she is guiding our guests too. She made tours to Tiraspol, Soroca, Chisinau and Orheiul Vechi. Also, Natasha and her mother Larisa are offering homestay in Chisinau town.

Kate and Boris are Marisha's parents. They live in Ivancea most of the time and are looking after Marisha's guests while she is in the UK. They speak Russian and a little Romanian. Boris learnt German in school and remembers some words pretending he speaks and understands the language. Their communication with our English speaking guest is done via our English speaking guides. Boris is also a professional driver and he will meet our guests at the airport/train/bus station and transfer to our flat. He will also drive our guests on the tours to the wineries, to Tiraspol and around Moldova&Transdniestr. Kate & Boris has a guesthouse in Ivancea where they will host our guests too. It's a "green" farm and all the food produced there is organic. They also make wine and keep chicken on the farm.

Lena is Marisha's cousin that lives in Tiraspol. She offers homestay in her flat in Tiraspol downtown and has a guesthouse in Besarabka village in Transdniestr. Lena speaks a basic English that allows her to communicate with her English speaking guests, correspond with them and advise on entry rules and local regulations. She also offers guided tours around Tiraspol, Bender and any other town/villages in Transdniestr and safe transfers through the Transdniestrian border. She will advise and assist those interested to buy a property or open a business in Transdniestr. Lena is married and has a lovely son Ilyusha.
