Club' n ' pub Sir W Churchil., Chisinau, Moldova

Newly opened English pub/restaraunt (visited in 2010) located in the center of Chisinau on the intersection of Bernardazzi and Armeneasca streets. Red brick building with wood elements painted green. At the time of visiting this pub had no outdoor sign with its name, but the owner said he was in the process of making it. The first level of the pub is a restaurant with comfy lever chairs and two seat sofas and a bar, photos of old England on the walls. The second floor is more like a bar with a big screen to watch football games. We've been looking for a place to watch Man United v Chelsea Charity Shield game and we wanted a place with no cigarette smoke inside and this place had both of them : English football games and very good air ventilation. Nice and cool inside while it's been boiling hot outside.

The food is quite pricey, but very nice. They do a big variety of soups and the portions are huge!!! Steaks are beautifully cooked! But be prepared to wait for your food as they are cooking from scratch and very slow. A big bowl of soup here costs 30 MDL (we had lentil and mashroom soups) and a nice steak (they do beef, lamb, pork) about 150 MDL (garnish should be ordered separately). Beer was very nice and cold. We had Carlsberg and paid 25 MDL for a pint. No English menu, but the waitress speaks English and they are in the process of making an English version of the menu.

Very nice pub, good service, gorgeous food, cold beers and most important English football games showing. We'll be coming here again soon, Sir Churchill!

Good quality and budget fastfood. Retro style environment. Clean premises and toilets. All the meals are on display with prices per portion, so you can choose yours by pointing at it. A lunch consisting of a salad, meat with garnish and soup will cost you around 8-10 Euro. There is a cake shop at the very end of the hall and they do nice coffee and lovely cakes here. On the top floor up the stairs there is a reastaurant and a coctail bar. Restaurant's menu combines 4 cuisins (Mexican, Japanese and European).

The fastfood is very popular with the locals and you will see loads of people dinning during the day on their lunch breaks.

Facilities : Wi-Fi, Baby chairs, air conditionning, smocking area outside, easy access ramp (will only let you access the fastfood and the coffee shop and not the upper floor of the restaurant), decent choice of vegetarian meals.
