Apartment : This is a large 4 bedroom apartment situated on the 5th floor of a Soviet style apartment block in a sleeping area of Chisinau. The area is very lively and largely expanding. There are many supermarkets, local shops and markets, as well as, bars, restaurants, fast food, pizzas and night clubs. The transportation system is well organised and Ciocana area is connected with Chisinau center, majour bus stations and train station by direct minibuses, buses and trolleybuses. It's only 15-20 minutes by bus from here to downtown and the ride is deadly cheap.

The apartment has two large double rooms, a single room and a 3 bed shared room, a guest kitchen, a bathroom and toilet room. Two of the rooms are facing a small street of Vieru and the other two facing a courty yard making the flat nice and quite.

There is a lift in the apartment block and it's working 24/7.

Apartment's facilities : 24 hours hot water, free linen and towels, a well equipped guest kitchen with a fridge and a cooker, TV, map of the area, map of Chisinau and of Moldova, telephone.

Laudry services are available from the host of the apartment. This may cost you 3 Euro per wash that will cover the cost of the washing powder and host's time and endevours.

Host : Boris is the host of the apartment, he will wait for you when you arrive and let you in, as well as check you out when you leave. He will do the cleaning and tiding up in the apartment. Boris speaks Russian and Romanian languages, and knows some basic words in German and English. He can phone one of our guides who speaks English if you need an interpretor. He is also our driver and can arrange sightseeing tours for our guests. Please, note that he does not live in the apartment all the time, so you should make proper arrangements regarding your arrival with Marisha by email .

Rules : Anything within the limits of decent behavior in a foreign country and someone's house will be appropriate. Additionally, we'll ask our guest not to smoke inside the flat and to take their shoes off inside the apartment. There are carpets on the floors in each room and the cleaning is done regularly. Also, we would appreciate if you keep a low level of noise after 11 pm, to keep the neighbors content.

Costs : 15 EURO per night for a double room, 10 EURO per night for a single private and 8 EURO per bed per night in a shared twin/dorm.

Getting around : best way is by public transport (buses, trolleybuses and minibuses). Minibuses are very frequent and fast. They run from early in the morning and until about midnight. The cost is 3 moldovan lei and should be paid to the driver when entering. May be crowded on the rush hours (8 to 9 am and 6 to 7 pm). Buses and trolleybuses are usually larger and more comfortable. They stop at regular stops, so may be easier to use for travelers. Bus fare is 2 Lei and trolleybus fare is 1 leu. To be paid to the conductor on the bus. Taxis are very cheap in Chisinau, so you may consider it when coming back to the flat after midnight. Flag the cab on the street or order by phone. Cost to any part of the city is about 30 Moldovan lei.

NEIGHBORHOOD

MAP & DIRECTIONS

Ciocana area with its wide boulevard of Mirce cel Batrin. It's on the walking distance from our flat. You will find loads of bars, restaurants, nightclubs on it.

Trolley bus is a green and cheap way of transportation. Number 24 will take you to the downtown. The ride cost is 1 Leu and will take about 20 minutes

Local 24 hours pizza place. They serve food and cheap beer here. Usually packed with locals in the evenings.

Another 24 hours supermarket a couple of minutes up the hill. Has a big range of food, a bank and exchange office, ATM machine

"Penalty" sport bar is a local sport bar with many TV screens broadcasting English and other premiership football and other sport events

Alimentara shop at the corner of our apartment block. Opened 9 am to 9 pm. You can buy basic food, beer, spirits, roast chicken, cigarettes in here. Also in the building: drug store, exchange office and bank, barber shop, bar.
